Aspen is divided into three sections: downtown, the West End, and the East End. The town is small enough that you can park your car at your lodge or hotel and walk everywhere, but not everyone follows this advice. Don't be concerned about getting lost, as the town is well-planned and has many hotels and condos on the West end, particularly on Main Street. Downtown Aspen has pubs, restaurants, shops, and everything else you could possibly need, and Snowmass Village is a short distance down the valley. Roaring Fork Valley is also located to the west, and you should visit them as well.
After a day on the slopes, you might be wondering what to do with the rest of your evening. Don't exhaust all of your energy, and leave the slopes early enough to catch a quick nap - you'll need all of your energy for the Aspen nightlife. No matter how much skiing you do or how many runs you master, you haven't truly experienced Aspen until you go out after dark!

Not everyone follows this advice, which can make driving and parking difficult. You can also take a free shuttle from one mountain to another, the Roaring Fork Transit Authority Bus, or the Rubey Park Transportation Center to get a ride anywhere in the valley.
Don't be concerned about getting lost. The town is well-planned. Beginning on the west end, there is a quiet Victorian neighborhood. While this is primarily a residential district, there are many hotels and condos on the West end, particularly on Main Street. There is also the Aspen Meadows Conference Center and Hotel. The Aspen Institute, the Music Tent, the Harris Concert Hall, the Paepcke Auditorium, the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, the Hallam Lake Nature Preserve, and the Aspen Center for Physics are all located on this 40-acre property.
Another residential area, as well as the Roaring Fork River and the Aspen Club and Spa, can be found in Aspen's east end. The East End has more forests than the West End, which has been heavily developed.
Downtown Aspen is located between the West End and the East End. The majority of the action takes place in downtown. Downtown Aspen, which features old Victorian buildings, has pubs, restaurants, shops, and everything else you could possibly need, all housed in beautiful historical landmark buildings.
Snowmass Village is a short distance down the valley. Roaring Fork Valley is also located to the west. These two villages are complimentary of Aspen, and you should visit them as well.
