Cloister At Sea Island

The Cloister At Sea Island is a five-mile-long private coastal vacation spot in Georgia. It is well-known for its championship golf course, which has recently been improved and is now better than ever. The resort also has a spa and several fitness centers, as well as tennis, horseback riding, sunset cruises, boating, fishing, shooting school, kayaking, swimming, and even diving lessons. Guests can also stay at the Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club, which has 40 luxurious rooms and suites with views of the golf course and even the ocean. There are 54 holes in total, including the 18-hole Plantation Course, which opened in 1998 and was designed by Rees Jones. Tom Fazio renovated the 18-hole Seaside Course, which reopened in 1999. You can learn to play golf at this course, or just play and polish your game.


The Sea Island resort also has a spa and several fitness centers. Special classes, as well as personalized fitness and wellness programs, are available. Tennis, horseback riding, sunset cruises, boating, fishing, shooting school, kayaking, swimming, and even diving lessons are available at the resort.


Sea Island is also a family destination where children can choose from a variety of vacation activities. Children can play free afternoon tennis and even attend complimentary golf and tennis clinics. During the summer, spring break, and even holidays, the resort is pleased to offer a program for children aged 3 to 11.


Food and lodging at a resort

The Cloister at Sea Island has over 250 guest rooms and suites located in various houses on the island. The Retreat House, Hamilton House, and Harrington House are all on the beach, whereas the newer guest houses and Terrace Houses are all between the beach and the tennis center.


Guests visiting Sea Island can also stay at the Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club, which first opened its doors in March 2001. The Lodge has 40 luxurious rooms and suites located above the clubhouse with views of the golf course and even the ocean.


During the summer, the Cloister's main dining room features live music and dancing. The Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club's Terrace dining room serves continental cuisine with a Southern twist.


The Cloister at Sea Island is best visited in the late spring, summer, and early fall. Sea Island is about an hour's drive from Savannah, Georgia, and about an hour from Jacksonville, Florida.
